make room for your big old Dad

Well, it’s been a long time since I wrote and there’s a good reason for it, but I’ll spare you the details.

The blog has moved to payne-family.org and is now implemented with WordPress, but I haven’t finished moving payne-family to the new hosting provider yet so you can’t actually see this post, the first in over two months, until I finish the move! Clearly I have finished the move at this point …

Jason still has the occasional night terror, especially if we do not uncover him shortly after he has fallen asleep. Tonight we had a baby sitter and we forgot to remind her to do that for him, so just as we got home he had a night terror, but I was able to calm him down. Madeline was still awake and she called down to me to tell me that Jason was starting to have one, and I ran upstairs to his room and said to him:

“Make room for your big, old Dad.”

This all started back in CA when Jason wanted somebody to stay with him when he went to sleep because he was scared being over in the other end of the house by himself. I said, “Make room for your big old Dad” and he would slide over on his little twin bed and I’d join him for a few minutes (or more if I fell asleep). Now every night Jason says, “Make room for your big old Dad!?” and I find it hard to say no.

Tonight Sue and I went out for dinner and a movie. No - movie and a dinner. We found a great baby sitter and for a mere $(too much money to admit to) we can go out and enjoy a movie and a dinner. Ouch. But totally worth it. We had Greek food today at a place just across from where we live and it was fantastic.

Because I have come to understand the importance of pictures in blogs, here’s a couple from the past week or so. Clearly the weather has changed:

Can you believe these kids!?!? The outrage!
